Our Story

A Legacy of
Achievement

The Kenner (LA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was originally organized on Sunday, January 13, 1981, at the Xavier University Student Center. Due to a legal technicality, the group operated under the name "The Diamond Club." The brothers involved sought to establish an additional alumni chapter in the New Orleans metropolitan area, believing it was essential to create a space where progressive men could exchange progressive ideas.

On March 31, 1984, the national headquarters of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. officially granted chapter status to the members of The Diamond Club, formally recognizing them as the Kenner (LA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
